Phenotyping and characterization of Extracellular Vesicles and Exosomes

EV purification

Extracellular Vesicle properties and marker composition depends on the state of parental cells/tissues. EVs shuttle proteins on their surface as well as into the vesicle. Together with RNA, proteins are an important source of biomarkers and potential indicators of disease states

Characterization of EVs by the following methods:

  • Scattered and Fluorescence NTA: characterization by Zetaview analyzer (Particle Metrix).
  • Immunoassays: ELISA high throughput marker screening, ideal for biomarker discovery, western blotting
  • Enzymatic activity assays (Enolase, Acetylcholinestarase, carbonic anhydrase).
  • Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS): analysis by Zetasizer (Malvern).
  • Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and ImmunoEM (Microscope: Jeol JEM-1400)
